The future of the internet is limitless. With textured graphics and quality photography web sites will become so realistic that the user will think they can touch it. Imagination and multimedia software will give the effect of the user actually being on their coach and using a remote control to surf what ever they want. Information will be displayed in fun and user friendly ways and I want to be a part of it. It has been a dream of mine to help display entertainment and information with the use of communication mediums. The internet has made life for everyone easier and I would like to help it grow.
I have recently joined Oni Design Studios, a group of very talented individuals collaborating their web development skills to satisfy any business need. Please explore OniDesignStudios.com to see how our diversity of talent can benefit your business.
Multimedia software like Adobe products have given the internet a fresh user friendly look for the internet. To me animation and video has made the internet fun, attractive, and realistic. Improving technology in bandwidth, file structures, photography, graphics, and video help multimedia get better everyday and go as far as imagination will let us. I see scanned textures of nature and sounds of instruments bringing an emotional and personal feel to web sites of different purpose. Everyday life and overlooked habits can be displayed so that a user can think "I’ve been there before." Like an artist's canvas, the internet has no limits and I want to be the artist.
I can remember the first wave my dad pushed me into. I was 7 years old and was riding a blue boogie board from a wholesale wharehouse. We were at Dam Neck beach in Virginia Beach with a waist high crumbling swell. He told me to hold on and off I went. There was a small drop but was smooth after that. I rode the white water straight to shore with a huge smile on my face, looking at the swimmers as I passed them by. Once on the shore I scraped my knees on the shells, but I didn't care. I had to get back out so that dad could push me into another one.
I use to love watching my dad make wood crafts. He specialized in wooden names and lettering that he would cut out with his red scroll saw. I know he could have charged a lot more for them, but I think he made them for the love of the hobby and as a way to rid stress. He was detailed and patient, never satisfied with anything less than perfect. Once he decided I was old enough, he let me use his scroll saw.
These two awesome memories inspired me to start making surfboards. While researching designs, I thought traditional foam boards would be a mess in my garage. I stumbled on plans for hollow wooden surfboards. This was perfect. I made my first hollow wooden surfboard with cedar and pine then glassed with epoxy. Riding that 10' longboard was like catching my first wave all over again.
I am now making both wood and foam surfboards and have a lot to learn, but is a passion that will be with me the rest of my life. Thanks dad!!
